Hey everyone, I’ve been looking into headless CMS options for a small project and Strapi keeps coming up as one of the most flexible ones, especially because it’s open-source and you can self-host it. I tested it a bit and I really like how it auto-generates APIs and lets you control everything, but I’m a bit confused about pricing since part of it is free and part depends on hosting or cloud plans. I also found this page Strapi Discount and now I’m wondering if discounts like that actually matter here or if most people just run the free version and pay only for infrastructure. In real use, does Strapi stay cheap or do costs grow once you scale?

I’m not using Strapi in production yet, just testing it while comparing CMS options. What stands out to me is that it gives a lot of control compared to typical SaaS tools, but that also means more responsibility for setup and maintenance. From what I see, it’s great for developers who want flexibility, but maybe not the easiest option if you want something fully managed. I’m still deciding if I want that level of control or just go with a simpler hosted solution.
